Anyone can participate in The Great Irish Bake. Remember the essential ingredients - venue, cakes and people! But the most important ingredient of all is fun so here are some suggestions on how to theme your Great Irish Bake fundraiser whilst raising funds for Temple Street Children's University Hospital.
CRECHES
Teddy Bears Picnic
Bake a treat for Father's Day
Mad Hatter's Tea Party - not just for children!
And don't worry if you don't have a kitchen - why not ask a local baker or shop to donate some plain cakes for your event and you can decorate them in the classroom!
SCHOOLS/COLLEGES
Another Country for one day - Bake something from far away
Cupcake decorating competition - sell your creations afterwards
Why not get a baking committee together to bake or source cakes to sell to students
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Don't buy bake - ask for a donation for your yummy home made treats
BRUNCH
Breads, scones, muffins - breakfast certainly is the best meal of the day!
COFFEE MORNING
Meet and greet with colleagues
AFTERNOON TEA
Home made sandwiches and clotted cream...yum
Getting started
The most important ingredient to The Great Irish Bake is fun!
Find the right kitchen
You can host your event anywhere that is convenient for you: school, a local club, work, your neighbourhood or anywhere you feel will work best.
Set the timer
We are whisking off this May but you can host your Great Irish Bake event anytime of the year.
Get baking
If you are hosting your event in a school or workplace it might be an idea to get a bakers committee together to ensure you have enough to sell on the day.
